They reduce everything to archetype and suggest logical, linear approaches to what is in fact an intuitive, iterative process. My only complaint about The Anatomy of Story is that lots of the examples detailed, while classics, are quite anxtomy. I underlined so much of the book and I’ve found it really useful when developing plot. A must read book for anyone who wants to be a screenwriter,or a Novelist.

This is probably the best book on writing that I’ve ever read. My library Help Advanced Book Search. But he throws around words like “master” and I think a “master” should also be able to re-write and cut out stuff that’s boring or obvious.
